Serangan Island

Serangan Island has 2 villages, they are Pojok Village and Dukuh Village. There is also Pura Sakenan (Sakenan Temple), located about 1 kilometers from the beach area, where the harbour exist for the ships. Pura Sakenan is one of holy temple for Balinese. On one of the great day of Balinese, Kuningan, this temple will be fully loaded by the peoples. With this condition, if you are a culture freak for some societies, in this case is Balinese, then attending the ceremony can be a good decision. You can make for some good photograph, or just seeing the peoples there doing a ceremony.

In the past, Serangan island also well known as a Turtle Island. There were so many turtles reside on the island. This is including for their eggs. But know, the amount of the turtles is dramatically decrease, due to the uncontrolled hunting by the citizens. Actually the government has been protecting the habitat from the bad hunters, but seems like the effort need for some new technic how to eliminated the hunting.

Another reason for the tourist visiting the island, beside seeing the temple, there is a possibility to do some activity, like surfing. There is a beach in the south side of the island. The wave is quiet good, with quiet area surrounding the beach. We can relax and pamper our mind and body. The sound of the wave and fresh air around the beach can make all of stress move out. Furthermore, you do not need to worry about the food, as there are some stalls along the beach, selling foods and drinks, and also souvenirs.

Serangan island is very close from Denpasar or Kuta. It is only for about 15 - 20 minutes drive. If you are staying in one of those 2 places, reaching Serangan with a motor bike can do, so that you can feel for more for adventures. But, if you want to enjoy the island with more convenience way, of course renting a car is another best choice.

In fact, Serangan island took a very strategic location. It can be reached out easily from anywhere. Not only from Denpasar or Kuta, it can be reached out fast from Jimbaran, or Nusa Dua. Even if you are staying in Tabanan district, still it is also easy to go to the island. Not far, no more than 12 hour drive.
